Rick Prelinger collected thousands of films that most people threw away: home movies, school films, company promotions and cheerful old adverts. Together they show everyday American life in the middle of the last century, from kitchens to car trips. Some are charming, some are unintentionally funny, and a few are startlingly old-fashioned. It is a time capsule you can open on any screen.
